Our members of Congress need to know that we care about Israel's blatant violations of human rights. The United States provides more than $3.8 billion per year to Israel without demanding the money be used in compliance with US and international law. We are enabling the occupation and attacks on civilians that our government claims to oppose. It is up to us, through Congressional action, to end this. The White House has asked Congress for an additional $17.6 billion for Israel as it continues its assault on the Gaza Strip, which has killed more than 33,600 people and wounded over 76,000. We MUST STOP this aid from being approved! Congressional phone numbers are below. Please call now!!

Hi, my name is _________ from zip code _________.
As your constituent, I’m urgently asking that you stop enabling Israel's massive violence against Palestinians. It is endangering everyone in that region and threatening to drag the United States into a larger war. It is also destroying global respect for our country, since we are widely viewed as the enabler of Israel's actions. As a taxpayer I object to having my money used to arm Israel and violate international law.
I urge you to take immediate steps to end this situation by:
_Calling for a total and permanent ceasefire,
_Allowing humanitarian aid to enter Gaza,
_Restoring funding to UNRWA,
_Ending the use of US tax dollars for Israel's military
Thank you for your time.
Below are the names and phone numbers for the Florida Congressional delegation.
All of them have local offices. For meetings in person, remember a few key points:
-
Be prepared and organized with what you want to say. The time of the staff and Members is limited, and you will find them more likely to listen if you make your points clearly and concisely.
-
Be respectful. You may be frustrated with a Member's position or actions, but you will never bring about a change of heart or vote with vitriol. Try to find a way of starting with a positive: ie., I know the Congressman (or Congresswoman) is concerned about ____ (the budget, human rights, American security, or other category), and I want to share a concern that is directly related to that. If you need help tying your concern to any of those areas, let us know and we'll be glad to help.
-
Ask for follow-up. Tell the staff member how you can be contacted and request a response once your information has been considered. Offer to provide resources and documentation that support your point of view. Thank the staff person for their time.
